There is no region in the world more closely associated with fabulous vineyards than the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bordeaux. An overnight here allows time to sample wine from its approximately 60 appellations, 9,000 wine-producing châteaux and 13,000 grape growers. Staying overnight in London, you can explore its many iconic attractions, from the London Eye to Big Ben. But you can also discover its hidden gems, such as the British Library, where you may see a scribbled page of Beatles songwriting or a Leonardo da Vinci notebook. Departing late from La Coruña, there’s time to make a trek to Santiago de Compostela, a beautiful cathedral – also a UNESCO World Heritage Site – to which many make a pilgrimage. St. Malo’s Brittany heritage runs strong in its local cuisine, and you can indulge in a helping of moules frites – steamed mussels and chips.
